Ready to respond

When disaster strikes, people are at their most vulnerable. MAF's Disaster Response Team are ready to deploy within 24-48 hours after learning of a disaster. On some occasions, such as anticipated paths of cyclones, they have deployed to regions in advance.

Our global team consists of staff from both MAF International and MAF-US, with shared management between the two organisations. All members of the the team have regular jobs but are willing to step up and contribute when the need arises, going the extra mile to assist people in great need.

Team members have to be flexible, able to personally adapt to continuously changing circumstances, and not be unsettled by shifting plans and the lack of structure that a disaster situation presents.

As part of our readiness to respond, MAF has equipment staged in different parts of the world ready to deploy when the need arises, including remote living kits and communications kits.
